با توجه به پیشرفت سیستم عامل ویندوز در سال های اخیر، شاهد اضافه شدن امکان مجازی سازی  از سال 2008  در ویندوز سرور 2008-R2    بودیم که موفق به جذب متقاضیان  زیادی به سمت  خود شده است، این سرویس را میتوان رقیبی در برابر VMware دانست. از این رو مایکروسافت برای افرادی که می خواهند از این سرویس در شبکه خود استفاده کنند و مجازی سازی شبکه خود را به Hyper-V  بسپارند دوره آموزشی طراحی کرده است
